This isn't the best picture as it was taken when they were passing on the highway. I saw these 4 kids riding in the trunk while the car was loaded with adults. We were driving on an unpaved dusty road in a 4 wheel drive, and this car sped quickly ahead of us.

I will never complain about not having enough room (anywhere!) again.
Not that it is the same, but there were no mini vans when we were growing up. The station wagon was the family vehicle of choice. We laid the seat down in the back, and laid three acrss. Not as bad as sitting in the trunk of a moving vehicle, but certainly not very safe either.
